The first thing to say is that Pearls should be a staple part of every lady’s Jewellery wardrobe. Whether it is just a simple pair of studs or whether it is something more elaborate like a classic 3 row choker necklace. 

A pair of pearl stud earrings mounted on 9ct gold pegs are often one of the first pieces of fine jewellery that a girl might receive, perhaps as an 18th birthday present or a confirmation present. Indeed we do actually offer a beautiful short 12” necklace with a 4” extension which is often bought as a Christening present by a grandparent or godparent. 

We source our pearl jewellery from one of the UK's most established importers, with over 40 years experience supplying fine pearls to a select few retail jewellery shops like Urban Armour.

All the pearls we use are hand selected, sourced internationally from pearl farms and then made either into beautiful matching pairs of earrings and pendants or strung into classic single strand pearl necklaces and occasionally bracelets too. 

We offer two types of pearl - Cultured Freshwater Pearls which tend to be our most popular pearls for everyday wear. They are farmed, as the name implies, in fresh water and when ready are then sorted out by size, shape, colour and luster.

The second type of pearl we offer are a higher value, premium offer of Akoya pearls. Akoya pearls are grown in sea water off the coast of Japan and often have a brighter lustre and a rounder shape. The Akoya pearl comes from an oyster.

At Urban Armour we supply earring studs in round shapes in sizes from 4 - 8mm from stock and other sizes on request. Pendants tend to be 7-9mm. And are either round or pear shape. Again with different sizes on request. Drop earrings are mainly pear shaped but we do have round pearl drops too. 

We also have in stock more elaborate styles of earrings and pendants set with diamonds. 

And from time to time we have other types of Pearl in stock like Mabe or Baroque for example. At the moment we have a lovely matching set of Tahitian pearl earrings and pendant in stock.
