BRITISH SILVER WEEK - EXHIBITION AT THE RINGSTEAD GALLERY

I am known primarily as an engraver. I discovered
gun engraving at art school and have applied these skills
to jewellery and metal forms.

Designs may be expressionist
or abstract, figurative or decorative and draw from
awealth of inspiration - the natural world, myths
and elemental ideas,and personal experience.

My main preoccupation is with combining surface
quality and form. In using techniques such as
engraving, mixing metals, texturing and hammering,
the decorative process becomes complementary
to the final form.

Materials used are gold, silver and platinum;
iron and steel; and gem stones, in particular
those with 'character'.
